Key components and efficacy data

ProcapilTM patented vitamin-peptide complex.
Oleanolic acid from olive leaves inhibits 5 α-reductase, an enzyme that transforms testosterone to DHT.
Apigenin from citrus is an antioxidant that increases blood circulation for more nutrition to the hair follicles.
Biotinyl-GHK (peptide enriched with vitamins) stimulates cell metabolism and anchors the hair follicles.

Cicamed Shampoo 3% is formulated with Procapil to target the main causes of alopecia: poor scalp micro-circulation, follicle atrophy caused by dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and follicle aging. Oleanolic acid inhibits 5α-reductase, apigenin improves micro-circulation and biotinyl- GHK stimulates cell metabolism. An Anti-aging study on cultured hair follicles showed Procapil to be as efficient as Minoxidil when used at the same concentration. The results from the hair growth stimulation are illustrated in figure 1. In a clinical study on male volunteers with alopecia (Tmean=28%) for four months, the ratio of hair in the active anagen phase (A) and hair in the fall out phase telogen (A) was increased significantly by up to 46%, figure 2. 67% of the volunteers had their anagen hair number increased.
